Description

PATON  proMIG 270 is designed for semi-automatic MIG welding, direct current (DC) with PULSE function capability. This is a 3 Phase 400V  welder,  designed for both professional and industrial use. The welder has an increased protection class – IP33 and a 70% duty cycle. Fitted with an adjustable VRD (Voltage Reduction Dioide) alowing the welder to be used in unsafe environments. Also worth noting is high-power, reliable, wire-feeding mechanism with a powerful airtight motor.

This is a welder designed for the professional MIG welder with a 70% duty cycle at 270 Amps welding current. The welding power source unit can be easily separated from the wire feeding mechanism, making this also a very light an versatile solution for ARC and TIG welding.

This MIG welder is suitable for:

  • MIG welding wire sizes 0.6 to 1.2mm in diamter, and wire spools up to 18kg in weight. The wire feeder spooling mandrel is enclosed in a plasic case which protects the MIG wire roll from exposure to the environment and other workshop debris.

and

  • ARC welding rods from 1.6 to 5.0mm in diameter.

SAFETY

For increased protecton in hazardous conditions, a ARC Idle Voltage Limiting Unit is built into the welder, which is capable of switching the welder on and off. For additional safety when the welder stops welding, the voltage of the power source is reduced to a safe level of 12V within 0.1 seconds.

These Professional Series welding units are protected against ingress of foreign particulates which are more than 2.5 mm in size and against rain drops, where the drops fall at an angle of not more than 60 degrees to the the vertical walled surfaces on the welding unit.

These welder are designed and time proven in the though harsh Eastern European climatic conditions for temperature ranges from -25 + 45 ºС .

The internal electrical and electronic components of the welding unit are protected against moisture, however they are NOT protected against heavy drops of condensation.

Another important characterisitic of this welder is its high quality, sealed,  metal housing type wire feeder unit. sealed.

It also equipment with a Euro type MIG torch connector, which has become a standard throughout the world, allowing the user to interchange with MIG torches from diferent manufacturers .

The wire feeder on this welding unit is a 2 roller wire feeder, for MIG wire rolls up to 18kg weight.

Due to their compact and robust design, this Professional Series welder is suitable for both industrial site and work shop usage. Its light weight and compant size make it very mobile.

Features & Benefits:

The high quality of the welds and also the safety of the Welder Inverter itself are ensured by the additional functionalities below:

FAN STOP: Adaptive fan control, increases the lift of the fan and reduces the amount of dust in the device itself. The speed of the fan increases at the beginning of work and when  the device heat s up, the fan speed decreases when the welder is cooled down.

4 Roller Wire Feeder: The  digital welding wire feeder is designed to ensure stable supply of welding wire to the MIG gun contact tip. The precison designed 4 roller drive mechanism provides increased control particularly for softer welding wires such as aluminium. The contact force between the roller and the wire can be distributed over a large number of drive rollers. Reducing the point loading force on the welding wire and preventing issues such as bird caging of the MIG wire in the wire feeder.

PULSED WELDING FUNCTION: This function is designed to simplify the control of a welding process when welding is completed in different welding positions and orientations. This pulse functionality is also used for welding nonferrous metals. When this function is activated, the application of pulse welding current improves the mixing of molten metals in the weld area and causes forced action on the transfer of molten metal drops into the welding pool, therefore the stability of the weld formation and the stability of the welding process are improved.

INDUCTANCE CONTROL FUNCTION: Inductance control allows optimiation of the arc characteristics, depending on the thickness of the part to be welded and the welding method being uses as well as the welding conditions. This functionality is necessary to change the slew rate of the current when the arc voltage changes. The thinner the element being welded the higher the inductance should be (soft arc – less fusion), for thicker weld pieces (hard arc – greater embedding).

The proMIG270  PATON™ Inverter has a built in a stabilisation system, so they can be powered from a generator. This welder also operates at full nominal current with a 75 meter long extension cable with 2.5mm square diamter conductors.

It is worth noting that the welding parameters fully correspond to the real working parameters of the welder, which is defined by the use of high-quality electronic components with thorough control at each stage of production.
